A colleague and I stopped in here for some coffee, tea, a bacon scone and a bar. Inside is small but they have ample outdoor seating which is what you want in North County.
The tea and coffee were excellent. I had a latte and it was exactly what you want.
My colleague got the bacon scone and said that while it was little weak on the bacon taste, it was lighter and fluffier than a scone traditionally which was a positive.
Lastly, I got a Monkey Bar which is a dense bar with bananas and chocolate chips and it was truly fantastic.
Locally owned and operated right in Encinitas. Go check them out next time you want to go to Starbucks. -

I'm, actually surprised this place has so many good reviews. particularly those involving the bacon scone and the sausage roll.
In the case of the latter, it was meh in flavor. Still, it was awesome compared to the bacon scone, which had so little in the way of bacon I could hardly taste it.
Maybe the other stuff is amazing, but I'm not really up for that gamble. -

The coffee itself is fine. What isn't fine is how much they actually charge for things. On the board I saw a mocha for $3.50 and they ended up charging me $5.50 "because it is iced" and they have to pay for the ice. No discount for using my 16 ounce reusable cup either. It was more than the 20ounce price in the board. It's a bummer because I usually like this place.

I've never really yearned for baked goods, but Gordy's may have just made a believer out of me. Their "Plonks" are what would happen if an oatmeal cookie and a muffin met on Tinder, had a few drinks, and threw caution to the wind. Trust me though, it's a much more beautiful thing than the visual I just gave you.
I went with the Big Bang which was like a bran muffin with blueberries only way better than either of those things are solo. Honestly, I can't say I've ever been so satisfied with something that sounds as simple as this. Probably not going to be able to wait till fall to try the pumpkin flavored one.
The shop itself it small, but cute with all sorts of cool stuff on the wall. There's not much of a patio to sit at for while, but if you're coming here it's for a to-go plonk, maybe a coffee, and to get on with your day. Overall, the perfect pit stop in you're in this shopping center. -

Wow. Just took one bite of the vegetarian sausage roll and had to review...this tastes like so many incredible flavors -- reminiscent most glaringly of a rich, fluffy thanksgiving stuffing.
This place has won my heart over in a single bite. Will keep you updated on the monkey bar and bran muffin.
